Run Ads Expired Check Now not working

I am trying to get the "Run Ads Expired Check Now" function working. When I run it, it does not remove expired ads. They are still showing. I do not have the "Prune" feature activated. Does that make a difference?

I read several other posts in the forum that mention that it takes a bit of time for it to work. So I ran it last night at 7:30 p.m. and still this morning, almost 12 hours later, it is still not working.
