child theme not appearing job roller
I would like to make changes not only to the style sheet but also to the other theme files, such as the footer.php, etc. I have done so in the past, only to have all rewritten in an update, of course. I heeded the advice on this page

WP (3.4x) and Jobroller (1.64). I cannot see the child theme appear in my themes list.
- Is it just automatically active?
- Is the path, starting with ../ the correct path for a regular install, using the same path structure indicated in
http://docs.appthemes.com/jobroller/...yle-jobroller/ or do I need to create additional path appended info such as
wp-content/themes...?
- Do I need to make any style changes inside that style.css file or can I do it via the editor under Appearance?
- Can I safely make changes to other theme files in this way after the child theme is active without having them overwritten upon updating the theme?
- Do I then make the rest of the selections, such as theme colour and all customizations via the regular theme options and menus?
