Customizing Menu - won't "add to menu"

I'm customizing a header. I've added a new url no problem, but when I try to add pages to the menu it gets stuck thinking but never proceeds. I've let it set for a long time. I've tried using view all and search. It just sits thinking until I leave it. Any thoughts? Oh, I just downloaded wordpress today and vantage today, so brand new, fully updated.
