Launched Vintage and Classic car site... thoughts?

    Hi folks...

Vintage and classic European cars UnCommonGarage.com

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I didn't make too many modifications here, I may end up removing the "most popular" and "random" tabs from the classified listings.

As more ads go up I will choose only select ads to be in the featured slider.

The idea here is to provide free classifieds to create site traffic and promote my 'virtual consignment' and other paid services.

I want to harness the blog more fully, and add some solid content, that's my background... auto blogging, to great effect with www.daveknowscars.com

I've found blogs great for SEO, I just need to build the blog content on the classified site.

For its intended purpose the default theme looks just fine. You may just lessen the empty grey space that sandwiched the header logo.

I'd like to tighten up the header, but I already set the padding to zero for the header.

I considered making the header image / logo itself larger (taller), but that doesn't truly solve the problem. I'd rather have more content lower on the page visible without scrolling down than having a taller logo image to just "fill" the space.

    any ideas?

I think there is a discussion on how to modify it in the Mods and tutorials section. If not you may create a topic on that and we will try to answer you there.

I might add adsense eventually. I like to build my sites, traffic and a following before adding adsense. I don't want to appear too overly commercial / money hungry right off the bat.

My other blog, www.daveknowscars.com was running for about 8 months before I added adsense and I'm glad I did. I just got my first wire transfer from google last week for the ads. now I just need 5000 hits a day instead of 500 and it might really be good money!
