Change, modify or upgrade plans
I know that this thread is not technically a bug or error but I don't know where else to post it.
The vantage theme, like all AppThemes, is beautifully designed and well written so I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining but there is a major flaw in the design of this theme's functionality - the ability for a user to upgrade their plan.
Let me explain. Suppose I want to create a basic "free forever" plan - quite a normal marketing "hook" to get people to sign up and create their listings. However, vantage doesn't allow a user to change their plan until the current plan has expired. In the case of an "unlimited days" plan, this means that they can NEVER change their plan.
What the theme should allow is to give the user the option to upgrade to another plan which allows them to select more more categories, feature their listing, choose between a monthly or annual plan, etc.
What this means is, as the site owner, that I currently have to choose:
a) to not allow any free listings - which means my site is never going to get off the ground.
b) to offer free listings for, say, 30 days - which means that it has to be renewed every 30 days if the user wants to maintain their free listing and I have to hope that they don't want to upgrade their listing before the 30 days is up.
c) to forget about attempting to make any money out of my site and offer it as a public service.
All I want to do is to give people an indefinitely free, single category listing with no featured adds then up-sell them to multiple categories, featured on home page, featured on categories and allow them to choose a monthly or annual plan.
It seems like such a basic and obvious feature to be included.
Or am I missing something?
