How to fix error code 404 for SEO?

    Hi,

Initially I'd Event enabled and had many Event Categories. Later I decided to disable Events for my website, FOR NOW. I may or mayn't include Events in future.

If I check my Google Webmasters, it shows 4 Server Errors (Response code 500) and 227 Not Found (Response code 404). All are related to missing URL's which are pointing to Events and Event categories.

My question is how should I dealt with this now? I don't want Google to index those Events related pages. I want to fix these errors. There is option to remove URL references in Webmasters called "Remove Outdated content". Should I use that and delete all such URL's?

    Thanks,
    Praveen.
