Need suggestions on adding an Interactive Map

We were thinking it would be nice to have an interactive map that shows a marker for all of the listings on our site. It would be great it could sync it self based on the listings. But i would also be willing to add the locations myself.

Can we do that with the google maps that is already built into the theme?

I would like to have it set as the home page?

Has anyone done anything like this and can you provide the link to your page so i can take a look?
