Nice Horizontal (or Verticle) Menu Plugin
I found this tonight and just thought I would share since I've seen a number of posts here asking about how to create a better horizontal menu.
This plugin comes with several themes & it works very well underneath the header.

You will have to manually add the code to your header.php file if you want to use this horizontally. It's not hard at all though.
