    Hi Mohsin,
I have a question on the third option you've listed (subsites by states and cities).

If I buy the Statify Child Theme (because I like the drop down on the search bar rather than on the menu), will this work with the Citify plugin? So first I select a state which then shows me stuff for that state only, and then I can select a city to refine the search further - will this work and will the City dropdown update with the entries relevant for that state only?

Hope that makes sense.. let me know, thanks

Thanks for your views. Yes, these plugins serve a similar purpose, but are not meant to work together, in fact they are not compatible with each other. You seem to have understood this limitation and just to expand on what you have mentioned:

If you only want to have sub-sites by states
Use the Statify Ultimate plugin which will save you the work of creating tens of state sites in subdomains/folders

If you only want to have sub-sites by cities
Use the Citify Ultimate plugin which will save you the work of creating tens of city sites in subdomains/folders

If you only want to have sub-sites by states AND cities

    Hi nayyer,

The Citify Ultimate plugin will work with the Statify child theme but not with the Statify Ultimate plugin. But the selected state will have no bearing on the available list of cities because they work independently, if you require inter-field dependencies, then the solution would be Dynamic Multi-Level Fields plugin which will allow your users to narrow down the results by up to three levels. You might want to have a look at it.

    Mohsin

    Thanks Mohsin,
I looked at the demo for the Dynamic Multi-level fields plugin but found an issue - once the location is selected, if you then use the Search bar or select a Category, the location settings are lost. Is the expected behaviour or something I have missed? I would have thought that once you select the location it should 'stick' until it is de-selected?

..Actually I submitted an email query to themebound earlier on the same and have just seen your response that this is a glitch in the demo - sorry for doubling up, I'll wait for your response here.

Thanks that seems to be fixed on the demo now. I have a few other questions:

    1) My site is UK based, is it possible to change the setting so instead of Country/State/City it shows something like State/City? Or State/City/CustomField? (I am also assuming state can be renamed to something more relevant in the UK - correct me if I'm wrong)

    2) I notice the Refine Search which usually appears on the sidebar after a category is selected is no longer there, does this mean that if I use this plugin then the Refine Search no longer works?

    3) Is it possible to show the multi-region selectors in the sidebar as well as/instead of in the menu bar?

    4) Is the discount code still valid?

    Thanks,

    Hi nayyer,

To answer your first question, yes you can use any combination of custom fields, and can have two or three levels of field dependencies. The refine search box will only appear if you set any of your field in a form layout to actually show in a refine search form. The answer to your third question is yes, but the sidebar widget is not currently available in the current version, so you will need to have it custom made. There is currently no ongoing discount on the website.

    Mohsin

    Thanks for the response,

Re. Refine fields - this doesn't actually work in eg the Statify demo (eg adjust price slider, does not show correct results), so I wanted to check it works ok with this Dynamic multi field plugin. Can you set a couple of fields on the form layout so I can check the Refine Search on the demo for Dynamic multi field plugin?

Hey Mohsin - sorry to chase but any chance you could add some Advanced search fields to the demo? I'm waiting to buy it but just want to be sure this works before I do

Hi Mohsin - can you give me an eta of when you might be able to add refine search to the demo? I don't really want to buy it and then be reporting this as a bug straight away. Should only take a minute but I gather you are busy, so if you can just let me know roughly when that would be really helpful.
