Custom field Validation and Postfix

I want to be able to validate my custom fields, even if at first it has to be using techie regex code. This way people are not tyiping "call whatever number you want" in my phone number field and "abdc" into my price field.

I also want to be able to give some of my custom fields a postfix. A good example would be listing number of "widgets" included in the sale. I want it to say "200 widgets" when they put 200 in the inventory field. "widgets" is my postfix to the custom field and then I could validate that the inventory must be a number below 1,000,000 or something like that.

Thoughts?

I second this. Would like to prevent people from typing $1,000.00 or $1000 or 1K or $1 OBO or whatever. Very frustrating. Also, would like this for phone numbers. I agree with the above poster about postfix also. Would really be helpful making the ad system more uniform and potentially help search results when a more advanced search filter is created!

Yes, an advanced search filter is another feature request I wanted but didn't want to flood the forum on my first real night posting here

Ideally I would *LOVE* to see some sort of jQuery form validation in place. I may try my hand at applying something like this: http://www.position-absolute.com/articl ... is-a-mess/
