Just keep in mind right now its displaying blog posts on classipress homepage until I can figure out why it will continue to do so. Hopefully 1.0.2 will have that fixed.

I really like what you have done with this Seth. Great work indeed!

Is there a way we can better control the content such as determining how many featured items are displayed as well as centering the ads?

Yea, I'll dive back into the plugin for an update on it next week, again, its not listening to the commands on the homepage so there is no point in building options till I work out the bugs, which have something to do with the wp_query calls that are already made on those pages.

It works great on the single ads, I'm still researching the differences between the two pages.

and if anyone has suggestions like this, you should post them on the wordpress.org forum reply page so that I can keep track of JUST that plugin and what it needs vs what classipress needs in this forum.

    Re: Featured Listings Sidebar Widget

Good news is that I have made the widget COMPLETELY work with Classipress. It took a really long time just to get that going. Its still using the WP_Query object, which is awesome. You won't see other widget plugins that have this code. It uses wordpress functions that assist in making the plugin/widget continue to function even after wordpress updates and wordpress database schema updates.

I will post posting the update now to wordpress.org, not sure exactly when it will show up that you need to update. I'm still a bit new to the whole development process with wordpress.org.

Check out the demo at: http://cpmodlite.smwphosting.com/
    Download it from: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...atured-widget/
Or you can download it from the wordpress admin plugin installer.

If you are updating, it should let you "update automatically".

    Re: Featured Listings Sidebar Widget

Hi Seth, thank you very much for bringing this plugin to us, it's really nice.

I have a question regarding the use of the plugin. On my site, the featured listings are business ads and not classified ads. Therefore, I would like to know how (if at all) I may be able to populate the Featured Listings Sidebar Widget with certain classified ads that I choose in a way other than making them Sticky. I don't want the business ads that are sticky to be displayed in the sidebar widget, only classified ads.

Thank you for any suggestions you may have on this inquiry.

A fantastic recommendation! Especially because the use of this plugin is not just for Classipress. In the next release I will create a "display posts from this category" where you will be able to enter category names of posts that you would like to feature.

I must come back and revise my statement.

I will provide the ability to list category "ID's" not names. I'm going to keep it simple to start and then enhance the options after in order to push out the updates and features faster for those who understand how to follow simple instructions correctly
