How can I show ads by state? (or value from another custom field)

Hi from France,

I'm working on a Classipress site to help professionals to find the local services they need when in a business trip.
In such case it is really important to select the what (categories) and the where (ad location in a drop down custom field) before you display the ads listing.

The search works very well but you have to type in the location which is not ideal and can be restrictive. Then I have created a custom field corresponding to a region and would like my visitor to select where they are and|or what they are looking for and then search.

Can I have another optional select box in the search bar corresponding to my custom field that would filter the same way it does for ads categories.
