My kingdom for a map search function.
I searched the world over and thought I'd found true love with the Vantage directory. But now I see that it is not what I thought it was.
I want to have a directory with an option to search by map.
Something like this:
Joomgalaxy was a plugin that had the right idea, and almost worked, but the technical disasters combined with corrupt tech support made be scrap that idea, and eventually Joomla itself.
I thought Vantage had a map search function, but when I started working with it I discovered that the map only displays the items that are currently displayed in the list below. If the page is set to display 10 listings per page, then the map will only display the current 10 listings. So, some countries will appear to have no listings, when they actually do. Visitors will look at the map and assume that there are no schools for their area listed in the directory and will leave the site. This is bad. I would be better off not having the map.
But I need the map. It is an extremely valuable function for a global business directory. Why is this function so rare?
