The site looks boring... Any suggestions?

I was hoping for a little more since it is very important that my site succeeds. I do not have too may technical skills, getting it to this point was a stretch. For your Pros, do you have any suggestions that would make this site "pop" just a bit more. It is not "live" yet as there are only a couple people that have seen it. I ma hopeing to get the bugs worked out (and empty pages finished) soon so we can go live, but was looking for suggestion on the main page might make the visitors experience more pleasing. http://www.hopecenterthriftstore.org/

After reading you post about lack of skills I think at this point you've done a great job. So well Done.

Yes you may find it boring But like me when you look at the same site over and over you get used to it.
Maybe you could add a background image or just changing the background color would add some further interest.

The things that I noticed need attention:
Your Google analytics code is visable. Are you using 'google analytics' plugin?
Some of you menu items go nowhere - check the links
Start posting on your blog (frequent updates for google)

your site is not boring - i feel so. it looks quite interesting.

you can try adding login using facebook / login using google - it generates more users and also helps publicity..

the falling leaves are annoying and outdated, if it was my site, I'd remove them. But that Photoshoped paw over the button is really bad he looks like he is holding half a leg in his mouth. Content and functionality is great.

I would suggest you install www.oneall.com to your site, let users login with social network accounts and email accounts. You can find the plugin by searching "Social Login" by Claude Schlesser it is really cool and easy to set up That would spice up your site. You can check out my site and see for yourself It's free, but if you get more than 2500 members, you'd have to upgrade plan, it's cheap though
