Vantage - New Listing - Pre-Select Category on Load

Hi

(Let's assume the user is logged in so there are no registration errors)

I'd like to have a link on a 'how to' page through to OR a specific landing page that when load pre-selects the category in the create listing (i.e. create-listing-butcher.php / form-listing-butcher.php) pre-selects the butcher category. Alternatively a string passes the information onto the standard create-listing/form-listing page. Upon loading the page also loads up Custom Fields associated with that pre-selected category.

I am pretty sure it can be done just not real sure how to go about doing it. Would really appreciate advice on it.
