getting Whoops! Page Not Found. When attempting to post a new item

Tried setting /%postname%/ as the permalink, this did not work. Any help?

I am guessing you are referring to Classipress.Please try to resave your permalinks with the custom structure of "%postname%"

Let me know if this solves your problem.

I have 3.1.8 and my permalink is set as you have advised above, same issue. When did 3.2.2 come out? Should I upgrade?

This one drove me nuts ...... I have used 2 plugins extensively on these themes when they don't setup correctly

WordPress Reset : This one removes everything including duplicate pages and sets wordpress back to a fresh install.
Vietnamese Permalink : This one cures those page not found problems when the permalinks get fragged.

PS... Dont forget to cast your vote for a payment gateway on clipper

How safe are those and do you loose data / listing when you run those?

Did you try to disable your plugins?

Is it possible to post your url?

no new plugins were added / updated that I am aware of when I found this problem.

If you have not made any mods to the theme, you can try to

1.check your WordPress->pages are all published.
2.re install the theme

Backup your files and database first.

If the problem persists you can send me your admin username and password to test your install.
